Laptop Repair Primer

Knowing something about laptop repair can really be essential. When you own a laptop, and have used it for some time, it is always possible that something may go wrong with the device. As with any mechanical device, the chance of a failure occurring increases with the amount of time you use the device. In the case of a laptop the fault may not always even be mechanical. The software installed on your laptop could become corrupted, or your system could become infected with a virus.

Here are some questions I hear all the time:
How do you fix a computer?
How do you fix a crashed computer?
How can I recover my crashed laptop?

In this age of modular computers, laptop repair is easy-at least if you know exactly what you’re doing. Many of the components of a laptop, including even the motherboard and RAM, and even the hard drive, are completely modular and can simply be detached and lifted out of the laptop. This makes laptop repair a very simple job, just so long as you make sure…

Lenovo Diagnostics Tools

Lenovo® diagnostics contains a suite of quick and extended tests that include memory, storage (SSD, SATA and SAS), optical, wireless, mother board, CPU, video and RAID. The diagnostics are available as a bootable, or a downloadable package that can be run under Windows or Linux operating systems.

How do I run diagnostics on my Lenovo?
Depending on if your Lenovo can boot into the OS or not will dictate which diagnostics to run.
If you cannot boot into Windows, you will need to download a bootable image that can be loaded onto a cd/dvd or USB drive.

If you can boot into Windows, you can run diagnostics from downloadable tools or install a program that runs from the OS.

Either way, the diagnostics tools will scan and inspect the components of the machine and provide a report with pass/fail status.
With the results of the tests known, you can proceed to fix/repair the issues.  Check the warranty status of the machine if replacement parts are needed.
Below you will find the tools you …

Part Number:  81H70058US If you're looking for a reliable laptop that doesn't overwhelm you with bells and whistles you'll never use, take a look at the Lenovo IdeaPad 130.  It's a well built budget oriented affordable, all-purpose laptop. It is good with word processor/Office type programs, internet browsing and other moderate work. The wireless connection seemed fast and reliable. Also the IdeaPad 130 screen was very crisp and sharp.
This is also on the Best Sellers list of laptops on Amazon.com.

IT Infrastructure Plan, Design, Deploy

Plan, Design, Deploy
Overview The IT Infrastructure Plan, Design, Deploy chapter provides ideas and guidance for a computer lab fit-up. Whether you are starting up and outfitting a new lab or reworking an existing lab to make it more productive and efficient, having a complete road map in place will ensure things go smoothly.
Developing a comprehensive plan is a vital component to ensure success.  Where to start? How do you know what needs to be done, what to look for, and how to put it all together?  This chapter explains just that.  From initial analysis to planning and designing, and finally, deploying of the hardware servers, racks, networking.
A plan should start with analyzing the business need.  Is your organization looking to start up a new lab or re-fitting an existing lab space?  What’s the core vision?  Create a concept detailing needs and requirements from team members.  Then proceed to quantify how these requirements can be met.  In reality, financial constraints may pla…
