This happens sometimes to my Thinkpad T500 when docking to Advanced Mini-Dock - it just powers off! It comes with the rubber caps already installed on the "outer fingers". I downloaded the iso but do you know what else could be wrong because now my laptop won't even start up the screen and everytime I started up the laptop screen always turns off randomly and I don't know what's the problem with it. thank you! the iso works great on a T60! but it does not work when the notebook is in the docking station. so do not connect anything to the thinkpad while doing this stuff. we saved a motherboard swapping.

For switchable graphics, you have to download and install the switchable graphics driver from the Lenovo site. I had the same problem when I bought a W500, and the vendor forgot to install it. Look at:
